Do you smell that? Smells like the transfer window is officially open for business!
Welcome to the 2016-17 season!
This also means that Chelsea fc players contracts that were expiring have now expired, and that includes a trio of first-team players, none of whom should be surprised by this, now officially confirmed development. In fact, Radamel Falcao has been preparing for the new season with Monaco for several weeks now. (Good luck to him and all his injury issues.)
Alexandre Pato had been hoping against all hope
that Chelsea would pick up his buy-option, but it did not pan out and so he's been returned to his parents club Corinthians. Whether he actually goes back to play for them is another matter, but that's a matter that does not concern Chelsea anymore.
Marco Amelia was this season's Magnus Hedman ,
arriving as an emergency signing due to injuries
but never getting to actually play an official
match. Amelia had come out of retirement to do
so; whether he goes back to that to continue with
his football administration activities in Italy or
stays on as coach at Chelsea remains to be seen
