Nigerians in complete hardship has kerosene price go up

– Kerosene sells for N220 per litre in Lagos as
against the official price N50

– Some Nigerians have said this is not the
change they voted for as they complain of the
suffering
Following the dwindling economy in the country,
the price of kerosene has increased to N220 per
litre in Lagos, as against the official regulated
price of N50.
According to Daily Sun, Nigerians complained that
the suffering they are going through is as a
result of the astronomical increase.
Funmi Olayokun, a trader, said the N220 pump
price of kerosene would further negatively impact
poor Nigerians, who solely depend on the product
for domestic use.
The mother of 5 said she was disappointed and
that the situation in the country was not the
change Nigerians prayed for. She added that the
prices of foodstuffs and other commodities, have
increased by over 100 per cent saying, “Nigerians
now go to bed hungry.
A taxi driver, identified as Seun Busari, berated
the organised labour and civil society groups,
noting that, “labour and civil society groups that
Nigerians depended on to fight for their rights
have sold out.
Onyemaechi Ukaegbu, a computer analyst, however, blamed Nigerians for the development, saying “when people sin, God will raise a wicked king to afflict them. That is what is going on in Nigeria today, so the affliction has just begun. Nigerians must pay for their foolishness in voting for change.
Recall that about four months ago kerosene sold
for between N115 and N120 per litre in Akwa Ibom, in Port Harcourt between N100 and N150, while in Abuja, the nation’s capital, from N150 and N140 per litre.
Country Director, ActionAid, Ms. Ojobo Atuluku, said the Federal Government’s decision to remove
subsidy on kerosene signifies a continuation of a
worrying trend of regressive policies that are
emanating in recent times.
